Larissa | Jim | Blacky Thank you for stopping by to check on Joann. We hope this page is useful, and we will try to keep it as up-to-date as possible. Joann tries to make 2 visits a day to Benedictine Hospital to see Larissa, and she requires a lot of rest. We ask that anyone intending to visit please contact Joann or Jim ahead of time to coordinate with those activities. Lowell Thing has returned from vacation, and his first feature article is a story on Ronald McDonald House of Albany. It was home for Jim for 8 nights before Joann was discharged, and for Joann and Jim together, 17 nights. Bob Starbuck's Photos from August 1 Picnic |

How she is: Joann arrived home at 11 Delta Place on Friday afternoon, August 21. She and Jim first visited Larissa in her new quarters at Benedictine Hospital in Kingston. It didn't take Joann long to feel it is right to be home. Joann's chemotherapy administration on Thursday, August 20, went well. No nausea, and a dose on Benedril yielded an afternoon nap. Jim continues to change the dressing on the incisional wound 3x a day.

About baby Larissa: Larissa made the move to Benedictine Hospital of Friday, August 21. Her ride started at about 11:30 AM, and she was well ensconced in her new digs when Mommy and Daddy arrived at the nursery at 1:15 PM. Quite a trip for a little girl. She continues to feed and grow. She now weighs 3lb. 13-1/2 oz. (1745 grams for you metric freaks) and is gaining about an ounce a day. We will archive email to Larissa at larissa@iswis.com

What about Jim? Jim totally unbiased opinion is that he has a beautiful wife, with a wonderful smile, and a very pretty baby daughter. Jim asks that you continue your prayers and positive thoughts. We can see a light ahead - the tunnel seems to be still long. Thanks to all.
