Thank you for stopping by to check on Joann. We hope this page is useful, and we will try to keep it as up-to-date as possible.

Saturday's picnic was a great success. It was a beautiful day in a beautiful spot in Albany. There were about 60 family and friends in attendance, including Joann herself. Everything came together wonderfully, except for some travelers from the south that got trapped on the Thruway for an hour because of a traffic accident. There was a bit of a long wait for everyone to she Larissa, but she was worth it. Thank you to everyone who was able to attend.

Regular visiting hours for Joann are daily 6:30 PM to 7:30, and additionally, 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday. We dearly appreciate your love, concern, prayers, and efforts to travel to Albany. Joann needs to conserve her energy for herself and Larissa, and we ask that you keep your visits brief. There are many fine restaurants, museums, historic sites, architecture, and other attractions in the capital region, and we suggest that you combine one or more of them with your visit to Joann. For more information, see our Around Albany page. dashdot.gif (419 bytes)

How she is:mother_child.jpg

Joann is doing great with chemotherapy. She was tired and sore after all of the excitement on Saturday, but she is doing well today, and there may more good news coming this way soon.

About baby Larissa:lara.jpg

Larissa continues to amaze everyone. She is doing extremely well in her isolette. She got lots of rest Sunday. The doctors think that she will be ready to be transferred to neonatal care at Benedictine Hospital in Kingston on the 14th.

We will archive email to Larissa at larissa@iswis.com

What about Jim?father_child1.jpg

Jim finally got some sleep this weekend. He got 4 hours on Saturday and 7.5 hours on Sunday. He is afraid that this doubling trend will continue, this is the land of Rip Van Winkle!

And Blacky?blky2.jpg

Blacky got stuck in the car for 2 hours on the way to Albany on Saturday, and got quite anxious. But once he had walkies on saw Joann, all was forgiven.
