Larissa | Jim | Blacky Thank you for stopping by to check on Joann. We hope this page is useful, and we will try to keep it as up-to-date as possible. Since Joann is much more mobile these days, we ask that anyone intending to visit please contact Joann or Jim ahead of time. When he returns from vacation, Lowell Thing will be taking over as editor of this page. Happy Birthday to Elena Valusi. It's impolite to mention a woman's age, but she's not even 30 yet! |

How she is: Your thoughts and prayers have been working! Joann continues to look forward to rest, writing thank-you's, readinding and research on her recovery options, and visiting Larissa. After five weeks as a patient in a teaching hospital, she is enjoying the quiet of our room at Ronald McDonald House. Some days are not as quiet as others.

About baby Larissa: Larissa weighed 1365 grams last night, still about 3 lbs. She is doing very well. The incidents of apnea are much reduced. She remains well entrenched in the "feed and grow" stage. ;-) Next week should be the move to Benedictine Hospital. Dr. Joseph Appel of Pine Street Pediatrics will be her primary care physician. We will archive email to Larissa at larissa@iswis.com

What about Jim? Jim is still experimenting with 1000 speed film, to be able to take pictures in the nursery without a flash. Check back in a few days for new pictures. Jim asks that you continue your prayers and positive thoughts. We can see a light ahead - the tunnel seems to be still long. Thanks to all.

And Blacky? Blacky is still out at the farm on Spillway Road where Jim's sister Rosmarie is taking good care of him. Thanks Rosmarie.
