dotp.gif (130 bytes) MERIDEN - Jonathan (Hody) Ives, 59, died unexpectedly on Monday Feb. 15, 2010.

Born Sept. 12, 1950, Jon was the son of the late M. Edward and Clotilde (Brazeau) Ives. He was a graduate of Platt High School (1968) and lived and worked in the Meriden-Wallingford area for most of his life. At the time of his death, Jon was employed by the Morrelle Corporation, which manages the former Wallace Silversmith properties in Wallingford. There he tended to the multiple maintenance needs of this complex structure. Jon enjoyed fishing, cooking and was an avid UConn Huskies fan.

Mr. Ives is survived by his daughters, Rebecca Ives Ballard and her husband, Brett, of Vermont, and Jasmine Griffin Ives, of Texas; sisters, Judith Ives Barba and her husband, James, of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., Janet Ives Angelis, of New Baltimore, N.Y., and Virginia Ives-Bishop and her husband, Ben, of S. Glastonbury; a brother, Jeffrey R. Ives and his wife, Lynn, of S. Meriden; a brother-in-law, James Shaughnessy, of Kingston, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Joann Ives Shaughnessy.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday, Feb. 19, at the Smith-Ruzzo Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden from 4 until 7 p.m. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
